Tainted Love
By Kathleen VanManen

The skies eyes bleeding bloody pearl droplets,
as each pulsating beat slowly simmers,
from the rose dagger you shoved through my chest.
The soil- ground with newly plants growing,
absorbs the blood pooling out of my heart.

You said the moon burns lesions on your face,
when looking into my bluish-green eyes.
You never understood why the moon did.
Then it shattered both your arms, legs and feet,
when a bud began to blossom inside,
the iced, Arctic, crystallized heart you have.

The stars smiled gleaming across the mid—
night black- blue sky as we walked beneath it.

A blossom grew deeper inside of you.
The demons within you fought against me,
as you said, light illuminates off me.

The red beady eyed demon controlled you,
as the skies eyes were bleeding blood droplets,
when you shoved the rose dagger through my chest,
whispering tenderly I love you dear.
